History
MFI (Microfinance Institute for increased employment, economic and social integration) was found in 2008 as a three-year project by the NGO Neem. The aim was to extend financial services for start-up or developing companies for groups, particularly immigrant women, who have no access to finances.

The project was run in four counties (Södermanland, Stockholm, Östergötland and western parts of Götaland). It was fund by the Swedish Regional Growth authority, Structural Fund East Central Sweden, the Regional Council Sörmland, and County Board of Stockholm County Administrative Board of Östergötland and Västra Götaland.
